Summer Art Camp: Art Through the Decades – The 1960’s
<html-blob>
Join us this summer for an exciting journey through the twentieth century! Each week will explore the visual art and popular culture of a decade (or two). We will take our inspiration from artists and art movements, popular trends in clothing, architecture, literature, theatre, film, music, dance, and the historical and social forces that shaped each era. Each 4-day camp will include a combination of two-dimensional and three-dimensional projects and divided into a 6-10-year-old age group and an 11-14-year-old group. For our 6-10-year-old cohort, we are pleased to announce a partnership with the OSU Department of Theatre that will bring an added element of movement and performance to each week.

In this week of art camp, students will learn about the aesthetic revolutions of Pop Art, Op Art, minimalism, and performance art and the social processes that inspired them. Our art projects will explore the still relevant influences of consumerism, mass production, and entertainment exemplified by Pop artists and provide an opportunity to play with graphic art, color, and repeated patterns.

</html-blob>
