SPD Manhunt Ends With Arrest

On Thursday, July 7, 2022, at 1:23 p.m., Stillwater Police Department (SPD) responded to an attempted first degree burglary in the area of 3100 E. Raintree. The suspect was identified as Vincent Sierra, 25 year old, white male. It was reported, the suspect had a handgun and made threats to kill the victim who was inside the residence.

As officers arrived in the area of 3100 E. Raintree, Sierra ran from the officers which initiated manhunt efforts. SPD officers, K-9 units, Special Operations Team (SOT), Crisis Intervention Team, Stillwater Emergency Management, Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Payne County Sheriff’s Office collaborated to quickly establish the perimeter, command post and active on-ground search in the vicinity.

After more than three hours, the manhunt was called off due to officers’ health in the extreme heat (103 degrees, heat index of 109). As officers were returning to the station, a tip was received from an alert citizen about Sierra’s whereabouts.

Sierra was arrested at approximately 6:30 p.m. in the area of 2800 E. Raintree in a vacant mobile home. A gun was recovered at the scene.


Charges:

·        Attempted first degree Burglary

·        Possession of a firearm while in the commission of a felony

·        Threats to perform an act of violence
