On Thursday, July 14th, Stillwater Fire Department dispatched multiple units to a grass fire on Highway 51, half a mile east of 108 North, to assist Ingalls, Ripley, and other departments. Houses to the north of Highway 51 were evacuated for safety. Highway 108 North was temporarily closed while firetrucks were set up to keep the fire from jumping the roadway. By 7:21 PM, the fire was extinguished, and they were mopping up hot spots. The extinguishing of this fire was possible due to a joint effort between multiple agencies. Including:
